"there's
no place like home" chose a random pair of baby blue converse
shoes and added this typical mexican grocery bag's fabric and sewed them back
together and mounted them on a pedestal where the sneakers kept on moving
simulating Dorothy's clicking heels.

Pedro
Linares (1906-1992) was the original creator of a bestiary of mythical,
dragon-like beasts made from reeds or wire, paper, paint and an inspired imagination.
It is said that Pedro Linares had an amazing dream whilst recovering from
an illness in which these fantastical creatures appeared.
They called these creatures "Alebrijes". In this
way I made my own from the basic tools that graphic, industrial and textile
designers use. |
